Welcome

Thank you for visiting the New Lambton South Public School’s website. Our school is an exciting educational environment where children, their learning and well being is the purpose of our existence.

We claim that New Lambton South Public School is the centre of education in the Newcastle area. Geographically we are very central but in terms of opportunity for children we are at the core! Our focus on supporting children and families starts with the availability of Play Group on site as well as provision for Before and After School which is essential for many working families.

In 2012 we have 16 classes and 407 students. Children who live in the local area are given priority of enrolment, but families are welcome to apply for Out of Zone enrolments and our Enrolment Committee will consider the application.

I acknowledge that our school is built on Awabakal land and pay my respect to the Aboriginal people of the past for looking after the land so well. I particularly pay my respects to the Aboriginal children we have at our school as they and the other children at our school are our future.

KINDERGARTEN 2013

Kindergarten students and their families who attended our Transition to School program know their dates for attending during the first week of school in 2013 for the Best Start assessment and whole first day at school.  If you have mislaid that date or if you have forgotten please phone the school on Tuesday 29th January to be reminded.  49571168

At our school we bring in Kindergarten students in groups of about 20 for one day only in the first week of school so that we can assess and have a full day with them in a small group.  After that day, all Kindergaren students return to start as a whole year group on Monday 4th February at 10am.  We start later in the day to allow the rest of the students to get into class so that the playground is less daunting on their furst day.

Kindergarten will  have normal hours 9:25am- 3:25pm from Tuesday 5th February.

Mrs Sandra Holland is the Early Stage 1 leader and Miss Jessica Metcalfe is the Assistant Principal of Early Stage 1 - so please talk to them if you need assistance.

Welcome to our school!
